What Davix
By Davix Team · Updated
A universal downloader is only as trustworthy as the boundaries it refuses to cross. Davix is built around one hard rule: it only retrieves media a source already makes available through a legitimate, publicly reachable mechanism.
Concretely, that means no DRM circumvention, no bypassing logins or paywalls, and no working around a platform's private-content protections. If a video requires you to be signed in to view it, Davix will not attempt to fetch it — it will tell you plainly that the content is private or restricted.
This isn't just a policy statement; it's enforced in the code. Every provider is a thin adapter around a well-known extraction engine that fails safely — when a source can't be processed through an allowed path, the request returns a clear error instead of silently trying a workaround.
The result is a smaller set of supported cases than a tool with no such limits would offer. We think that trade-off is the right one: a downloader that only does what it's permitted to do is one you can actually rely on.
