No accounts, no profiles
Davix does not require or support account creation. We do not collect names, email addresses, or any identity information as part of using the downloader.
What we process temporarily
When you paste a URL, we send it to the matching platform to retrieve its title, thumbnail, duration, and available formats. When you start a download, the chosen media is retrieved into a temporary, isolated location on our server, streamed to your browser, and deleted immediately after — typically within seconds, and never longer than our configured retention window.
Anonymous rate limiting
To keep the service usable for everyone, we enforce a daily download limit. Rather than storing your IP address, we derive a one-way salted hash of your connection identity and the current date, and count against that hash in a fast in-memory store. That hash is not reversible and rotates every day — it cannot be used to build a history of your activity, and no raw IP address is retained.
Anonymous visit statistics
To understand which pages are useful, we count visits on our own servers — without cookies and without third-party analytics. We keep only daily totals (for example, how many people viewed a page, which website referred them, and whether they used a phone or a computer). We do not store IP addresses, user agents or any identifier that could be linked to you, and we ignore visitors who send a "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signal.
Third-party sources
Analyzing or downloading a link necessarily involves a request to the source platform (e.g. YouTube, Instagram). That platform's own privacy practices apply to that request independently of Davix.
Cookies
See our cookie policy for details on the minimal, functional cookies this site uses.
